This past Sunday, November 1st, was World Vegan Day, kicking off a month long recognition of veganism around the world. How cool! I still consider myself a newbie. I've have only been eating a vegan diet for a little over a year and vegetarian for a little over three. I think being on this path was one of the best decisions I ever made and I have never looked back.
I recently read an article about finding peace and contentment in a crazy, busy world. The suggestions really resonated with me... Live simply, close to the earth. Live a holistic life, embracing nature, eating from the earth, being emotionally and intimately satisfied. Connecting with others who are like minded. Accepting where you are at this very moment.
Eating a vegetarian/vegan diet started really as an experiment to achieve optimal health and wellness but I have gained so much more. I am more connected to every living, breathing, growing being. My passion for this lifestyle continues to grow deeper and I find that there is so much to celebrate. Happy World Vegan Month!
